Interstellar (2014)

It`s the end of the world...                                                                               // Again ???

 OR IS IT ?

Hit play and enjoy !

In November of 2014 I watched the film Interstellar at a 3D cinema in Cluj-Napoca.

Next to me there were a family of three (father, mother and young daughter).
In the beginning of the film they were laid back.
But in the end of it all three of them were leaning forward in awe, staring blindly at the screen from behind their 3D glasses, with their mouths open and with their heads on their palms... They were perfectly aligned with one another. :)  It was an excellent frame to see !

The film excellently combines the two human needs: belonging to a family (primal need) and long term thinking and preservation - the survival of the entire human race (secondary need).
It is the perfect combination for both visual and auditory type of people, with camera angles to make you dizzy and pictures so real it will keep you at the edge of your seat . No wonder it won the Oscar and the BAFTA award for the best special effects (2015)

What impressed me (an auditory type of person) is that the film mixes total silence with frames of the extreme vacuity of space !
Also, it was nominated for the Best Soundtrack at
the golden Globe award and at the BAFTA award.

**

No spoilers, I promise. But I will say this : "What is the difference between a good film and a wonderful film ?"

It`s what you do at the end of it that matters !

At the end of a
wonderful film you DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE YOUR SEAT !. Ever !
And you will use the end credit`s time to
reflect on what did you just witnessed !

The cleaning people almost dragged me from my seat. Minutes later, as I got on the bus, I felt such awe, that I began staring through people, with my mouth open, questioning the whole reality as I knew it.

I didn`t care about their opinion. I had my own !

I was high for about an hour. I vaguely remember how I got home that night...

// 3 styles of covers of the same book

I felt the same thing when fiinishing the book "Childhood`s End" by Arthur C. Clarke.

It was as all my worries were suddenly scattered by these two masterpieces !

Like one of my best friends said : "Duude, that movie had the signature of A.C. Clarke all over it !"

PS. Last winter holiday, I watched the movie the fourth time. But this time I chose to watch it at home with my parents and grandparents . Some of them were in awe, and the rest of them were on the brink of crying tears of joy, when they witnessed the power of the soundtrack you just heard  !

I recommend you watch this film at least once in your lifetime !
